The Latvian National Museum of Art aka “The Latvian Louvre” to open doors after 2-year, multi-million euro total renovation.
The works have finally been completed after extensive repair, renovation and new detail introduction in both interior and exterior of the historic building on Valdemāra Street.
The official signing of documents were held in the premises by the Museum director Māra Lāce, in presence of the Mayor of Riga Nils Ušakovs and the Minister of Culture Dace Melbārde.
The Museum will start to move into the fresh space early in 2016 — when around 40 000 art works will be relocated to the new archives.
Official opening of the Latvian National Museum of Art is scheduled for May 4, 2016.
But the most curious ones will be able to attend during the Open Doors at the Latvian Louvre — December 12 thru 16, 2015. Don’t miss your chance to check it out!
