To combat the chaos, new geofencing rules are automatically slowing down scooters in high-pedestrian zones. If you hit a crowded park or the heart of the Old Town, your ride is going to forcefully throttle down to a crawl. It’s a necessary evil after hospitals reported a spike in scooter-related injuries last summer.
Expect tighter speed zones, stricter parking regulations (no more dumping your ride in the middle of a crosswalk, please), and actual enforcement on the streets. The police are keeping a close eye on drunk riding, too. The message is clear: enjoy the ride, but keep it civilized. Otherwise, your quick trip to the bar might end with a hefty fine.
