Riga came alive this weekend as fans and the Latvian Basketball Association welcomed the U16 men’s national team back to the capital.
The squad returned home after capturing the country’s first-ever FIBA U16 EuroBasket gold medal in Oradea, Romania.
Latvia capped off a flawless 7-0 campaign with a hard-fought 75-69 victory over four-time champions France.
The atmosphere at the welcome event was electric. Fans packed in to snap pictures, get autographs, and celebrate a new generation of Latvian hoopers.

Tournament MVP Benjamin Berrouet led the charge throughout the tournament, dropping 22 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in the final.
