From today through Sunday, Riga gets the loud, visible stretch of Namejs 2026.
Soldiers, Zemessardze, allied troops, and military kit will move through the city. Expect training checkpoints, anti-vehicle barriers in places, drones and military flights overhead, and short vehicle or pedestrian holds where the scenario needs them.
Hotter neighborhoods on the map: Pētersala–Andrejsala, Brasa, Čiekurkalns, Teika, Mežciems, Torņakalns, Ziepniekkalns, Bolderāja, Daugavgrīva, and Sala.
Tonight around 8 PM in Jaunā Teika, near Ropažu iela 6, training anti-vehicle and checkpoint gear starts going in. Friday morning, a critical-infra protection drill hits Rīgas ūdens Daugavgrīva plant at Dzintaru iela 60 — Bolderāja and Daugavgrīva should expect more uniforms and trucks.
Friday and Saturday: civilian evacuation training gathers on Aleksandra Grīna bulvāris by Uzvaras parks, then buses to Rīgas Arkādijas vidusskola at Melnsila iela 6 — training evacuation center, wraps Saturday morning.
Night of 18–19 Sep, 10 PM to 7 AM: checkpoints on Salu tilts with State Police. Traffic will crawl.
Saturday: a medevac helicopter episode at the official landing site in Uzvaras parks, area cordoned while it runs.
Who’s on it: NBS, Zemessardze 1st Riga Brigade, allies from Sweden, Denmark, and Lithuania, plus Ukrainian Armed Forces representatives, working with State Police and Border Guard.
