Riga Ball 2017 will be held for the second time on September 9 at the House of Blackheads in Riga.
The Ball emphasizes the renewal and preservation of the classic European and traditional Latvian cultural values, as well as the promotion of the name of Latvia and Riga in the world.
Viennese ballroom dancing is one of the most striking and colorful reminders of its most ancient epochs, with unique, wonderful composers, as well as the unique mix of the elite and ladies’ luxurious outfits. More than 120 years have passed, but Vienna Opera Balls still play a vital role in European cultural life.
Riga Ball will offer sophisticated dinners from the restaurant 36. Line, specially inspired drinks from Noble Wine, and desserts from Desertu Studija, live music throughout the evening and a unique concert program.
At 8:00 pm, an official ceremony will be held at the opening ceremony of the ball debutants. Dressed in white dresses and their partners in blackfolds, they will perform demonstrations of the Polonais and the Vienna Whale.
The special selection of debutant couples will be performed and will be prepared for the best dancers and choreographers of the Latvian ball dance for the first time. After the debutants’ performances, the organizers of the event, with the support of the Riga City Council Management and Event Partners, will open the Riga Ball 2017.

During the evening program, Latvian National Opera ballet soloists, Latvian best ballroom dancers, historic dance performers, as well as the most popular opera singers and the boy choir of Jāzeps Mediņš Riga 1 Music School will perform.
There will also be a charity event during the Ball, in which the funds raised will support the talented children in various cultural sectors.
During the ball there will be a strict dress code. Men will have to come to the ball in a black suit, a tuxedo or suit with a matching butterfly! For ladies, the ballroom drafts provide for long evening dresses.
