Unusual heat is expected in Riga and throughout Latvia.
Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre informs that high air temperatures are forecasted on Thursday afternoon, mainly in Central Latvia.
The temperatures will reach up to 30° C.
Furthermore, yellow warnings are being issued on Meteoalarm, the site that alerts Europe for extreme weather.
Orange and red weather warnings are in effect for Central and Western Europe, while all Latvian regions — Kurzeme, Latgale, Vidzeme and Zemgale are being issued a yellow warning.
LEGMC also informs that hot weather will remain in the coming days too — from Friday until Sunday.
Temperatures are likely to rise up to +27°…+30° C in Riga and throughout most of Latvia.
While thirty-degree heat is far from severely extreme conditions (we’ve seen worse over here in the Baltics), it is still a dangerous weather to be outside in. So make sure you protect your head, stay in the shadow and drink some water.
Have a great sunny week-end!
